NORFOLK, Va. --The Delaware State Hornets needed eight innings to get the job done, but secured the 3-2 extra-innings victory over the Norfolk State Spartans Wednesday.
A. Fonollosa (4-3) got the win for Delaware State (26-21). The right-hander went 7.1 innings, giving up two runs, both of them earned, on seven hits, allowing one walk and striking out two.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Trailing 1-0, the Hornets first put runs on the board in the seventh inning. M. King came across to score the lone run of the inning for Delaware State and get them on the board.
The score stayed at 1-1 until the very next inning, when the Hornets put runs on the scoreboard once again. Delaware State brought home a pair, with one run driven in by King's single, which brought the score to 3-1 in favor of the Hornets. Norfolk State put one run on the scoreboard before the game was over, but Delaware State still held on for the 3-2 win.
