JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Since losing the

(Simi Valley, Calif.) and then scored with a single to right center from
Beighley to put DSU up, 1-0.
The
Hornets broke the game open in the top of the third, putting up three runs with

a gem against the host Ospreys, going 8.0 innings. She gave up one run (earned) and five hits
with one walk and one strikeout to earn her second win of the season.
The
Hornets looked a little shaky to start the game before eventually calming down.
Jackie
Reese led off the bottom of the first with a double down the left field
line. Kaley Brosky then put down a
sacrifice bunt but reached on an error Martello, the first baseman. Reese scored the Ospreys' lone run of the
game on the error.
DSU
got on board in the top of the fifth as Campbell led off the inning with a
single to third. Junior Kelsey Lewis (Mt. Sinai, N.Y.), in to
pinch-run for Campbell, advanced to second on a sac bunt from senior Rachel Carroll (Oxnard, Calif.) before
moving to third on an Ashley Brown wild pitch.
With two outs, Reid tripled to right field to score Lewis and tie the
game at 1-1.
Still
tied going into the seventh inning, neither team was able to get things going
and get on the board as the game went into extra innings.
With
freshman Rebekah Beeson (Bear, Del.)
on second as the pinch runner, Reid grounded out to second to move Beeson to
third. Reeger then put down a sacrifice
bunt, but reached on a fielder's choice as Beeson scored the go-ahead run at
2-1.
UNF
had two runners on base in the bottom of the inning but were never able to
capitalize as the Hornets took the 2-1 victory.

to 10-6.
