THE GAME
The surging Hornets welcome MEAC leader Norfolk State to Memorial Hall. Delaware State (7-11; 4-3 MEAC) brings a three-game win streak into the contest. The Hornets are coming off a 56-41 victory at North Carolina A&T last Monday. DSU held the Aggies without a field goal in the final 13:10 of the game en route to the win. The Hornets outscored NCA&T 18-3 during the Span. Tahj Tate was high man for Delaware State with 15 points, while Tyshawn Bell came off then bench to add 12. Norfolk State (16-7; 8-1 MEAC) has lost two of its last three games after winning the previous eight. The Spartans dropped their first MEAC game of the season 87-82 to Coppin State in their most recent outing last Monday. MEAC Pre-season Player-of-the-Year Kyle O'Quinn led Norfolk State with 27 points and 18 rebounds in the contest. Chris McEachin added 17 points for the Spartans in the Coppin State loss.  
        

DSU VS. NSU SERIES HISTORY (DSU leads 21-17)  
Delaware State has won three of the last four meetings to open up a 21-17 lead in the series.  The Hornets won the only meeting between the teams last season 91-83 in Memorial Hall. Casey Walker led five DSU players in double figures with 24 points the last time the teams met. Walker's performance was highlighted by six three-point field goals (6-8). Marques Oliver recorded a "double-double" with 15 points and 10 rebounds in last year's DSU/Norfolk State meeting. Kyle O'Quinn led NSU with 21 points and 14 rebounds in the contest. Delaware State has won the last seven between the teams in Memorial Hall. Norfolk State's last win in Dover was on Jan. 26, 2004 (82-80 in overtime). The Hornets and Spartans are scheduled to meet again on Feb. 15 in Norfolk, Va.
