THE GAME
Delaware State wraps up a two-game road trip with a visit to surging North Carolina A&T in a Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference contest. The Hornets have won their last two games to improve to 6-11 overall and 3-3 in the MEAC. DSU is coming off a 76-70 road win over North Carolina Central on Saturday. Tahj Tate led four Hornets in double figures with 20 points. Casey Walker added 15 points, while Kendall Gray had 14 and Jay Threatt 11 for the Hornets. Delaware State led 37-27 at the break, and by as many as 15 in the second half. The Hornets are seeking their first three-game winning streak since the 2009-10 season. North Carolina A&T bring a five-game win streak into the contest. The Aggies (10-12; 5-2 MEAC) are coming off a 91-66 thrashing of UMES on Saturday. Five Aggies scored in double figures, led by Marc Hill's 20 points in just 22 minutes of play. Hill's performance was highlighted by 4-of-4 shooting from three-point territory. Adrian Powell added 15 points for NCA&T.
DSU VS. NCA&T SERIES HISTORY (NCAT leads 54-29)
The Aggies have won the last three meetings to open up a 54-29 lead in the series. The teams met once in the 2010-11 season. North Carolina A&T won the contest 78-73 in overtime at DSU's Memorial Hall. Aggie senior Thomas Coleman led all players with 30 points and 12 rebounds. Casey Walker led four Delaware State players in double figures with 19 points, highlighted by five three-point field goals. Jay Threatt had 13 points and nine assists in last year's DSU/NCA&T game. The last time the teams met at North Carolina A&T, the Aggies won the contest 65-54 on Feb. 6, 2010. This is the only scheduled meeting between the teams this season.
