THE GAME
Delaware State visits Atlantic Coast Conference country for the second time this season to take on North Carolina State. The Hornets are trying to snap a five-game losing streak that's dropped its record to 4-8 this season. DSU is looking to bounce back from a 77-59 loss to George Washington in its last outing (Dec. 31). The Hornets were led in scoring freshman Amere May, who tallied a career-high 22 points. Freshman center Kendall Gray recorded his first collegiate double-double, scoring 12 points and grabbing 10 rebounds. He also blocked four shots in the contest. George Washington led 37-27 at the break, and took control for good with an early second half run. The Colonials opened the second half with an 18-3 run, and opened up a 55-30 lead on a basket with 14:41 left to play. North Carolina State (10-4) has won four straight and five of its last six games entering the contest. The Wolfpack is coming off a n 82-55 win over Western Carolina on Saturday. All five N.C. State starters scored in double figures. C.J. Williams led the way with 21 points.

DSU VS. NC STATE SERIES HISTORY  (NC State leads 2-0)
The teams are meeting for the second straight year, and third time overall. NC State won the first two meetings, including a 72-70 victory last season (Dec. 22, 2010). Scott Wood scored the game-winning basket for the Wolfpack on a follow-up with 2.1 seconds left to play. DSU's Jay Threatt launched a desperation shot from mid-court that struck the rim as time expired. N.C. State won the first meeting between the teams 63-43 on Nov. 17, 2006  at the RBC Center. DSU is 0-14 all vs. ACC teams, including a 70-52 loss to Georgia Tech this season (Nov. 14).
