DSU BATS REMAIN COLD IN LOSS TO WILDCATS

Daytona Beach, Fla. (Mar. 9, 2011) --- The Delaware State softball team suffered its second straight shutout during a week-long Florida swing, falling to Bethune-Cookman 5-0 this afternoon.

Chastity Sanders and Allison Garcia combined on five-hit shutout for the Wildcats. Sanders earned the win after allowing three hits and striking out three in five innings.

Jordan Reid had two hits, while Andrea Waters, Casey Beighly and Skye Boris had one hit each for the Hornets.

Cesley Tafoya was 4-for-4 with two runs batted in to lead Bethune-Cookman's eight hit attack. Tafoya singled in a run in the Wildcats' three-run first inning. She also drove in a run on a single in the fourth.
