Jacksonville, Fla. (Mar. 8, 2011) --- Delaware State starter Ashlyn Campbell threw four shutout innings before North Florida exploded for six runs in the fifth in a 6-0 victory over the Hornets Tuesday afternoon.
Campbell, a freshman, allowed just one hit while striking out six before North Florida got to her in the fifth. Marissa Thomas and Kaley Brosky had two-run doubles in the inning.
Delaware State managed just three hits in the contest, including two singles by Tawny Reeger (2-for-2). Jordan Reid had a single in the fifth for the Hornets' other hit. DSU had runners at first and third with one out in the fifth, but failed to score.
North Florida starter Cortney Radke (7-7) went the distance to earn the win. She allowed three hits and struck out seven.
The Hornets return to action on Wednesday at Bethune-Cookman.
