THE GAME
Delaware State travels to Southeast Conference country to take on the Georgia Bulldogs in the first of back-to-back games in two days in two cities. The Hornets (4-6) have been idle since a 59-55 loss to Tennessee State on Dec. 17 in Dover, Del. DSU played without three starters in the contest (Gray, Threatt, Tate), The Hornets led 27-21 at the half, and opened up a 39-31 lead on a basket with 12:36 left to play. Delaware State missed a potential game-tying three-point shot in the final minute of play. Casey Walker led four Delaware State players in double figures with 13 points in the Tenn. State contest. Georgia (8-5) brings a four-game win streak into the contest. The Bulldogs posted a 92-86 victory over Winthrop in an overtime thriller Tuesday evening. Gerald Robinson led the UGA with 22 points, including six in the final 22 seconds of regulation. The Bulldogs have played three games since Delaware State's last contest on Dec. 17. The Hornets will at George Washington University in Washington, D.C. on Saturday.

This is the second meeting between the teams. Georgia won the first contest 58-47 on November 28, 2007 at Stegeman Coliseum in Athens, Ga. Delaware State hit just 16 of its 56 shots from the field (28.6%), including 4-for-21 from three-point territory (19.0%). The Hornets trailed 33-21 at the break, and fell behind by as many as 22 (23-45) in the second half. DSU could get no closer than 11 in final 20 minutes.
