HORNETS VISIT BIG APPLE TO TAKE ON WAGNER

THE GAME
Delaware State visits the Big Apple to take on Wagner College of the Northeast Conference. The Hornets are 2-2 on the season, while the Seahawks bring a 4-1 record into the contest. DSU is coming off a 104-41 demolition of Phila. Biblical at home on Wednesday. The Hornets scored the first 25 points of the game and never looked back. Tahj Tate led four Hornets in double figures with 18 points in the contest. Casey Walker had 16 points on six-for-nine shooting from the field, including four-of-seven from three-point territory. Tyshawn Bell came off the bench to tally 15 points, while Jordan Lawson and Amere May added 13 and 10 points, respectively, for the Hornets. Delaware State shot 42-for-79 from the field (60.0%), including 10-of-23 (43.5%) from the beyond the arc. Wagner has won its last three games, including a 71-65 victory over Penn on Tuesday in its last outing. 

DSU VS. WAGNER (DSU leads 4-1)
The teams are meeting for the first time since 2003, and sixth time overall. Delaware State holds a 4-1 lead in the all-time series. The Hornets won the last meeting between the teams 59-48 on Dec. 2, 2003 at Wagner. Terrence Hunter was high scorer for the Hornets with 17 points, while Jahsha Bluntt added 11. Delaware State was 9-for-9 at the free throw line, while Wagner was 11-of-21 at the stripe in the contest. Greg Jackson was in his fourth season as DSU's head coach when the teams last played. The teams also met the previous year, with the Hornets coming out on top 70-63 in Dover, Del. Delaware State also won 1994 (78-69) and 1995 (64-59) contests between the teams, while Wagner's lone victory was in 1996 (73-59).
