THE GAME
Delaware State visits Florida A&M in a Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) game. After a 2-0 start, the Hornets have dropped their last two games to fall to 2-2 overall and 0-1 in the MEAC. DSU has failed to score in its last two games. The Hornets are coming off a 69-0 loss to South Carolina State last Saturday, the worst MEAC defeat in team history. Delaware State managed just seven first downs and 84 total yards in the contest.  Florida A&M is 2-2 overall and 0-1 in league play. The Rattlers snapped a two-game losing streak with a 38-33 win over Southern (La.) before more than 59,000 fans at the Georgia Dome in Atlanta last week. Florida A&M scored the game-winning points on the fifth rushing touchdown of the game (school record) by running back Levante Page with 3:27 left to play. The Rattlers trailed 33-24 entering the fourth quarter.

THE SERIES
This is the 29th meeting between the teams since the series began in 1977. Florida A&M has won the last two games to open up a 20-8 lead in the series. The Rattlers won last year's meeting 17-14 at Delaware State's Alumni Stadium. In the 2010 meeting, Delaware State led 6-3 in the second quarter and 14-10 in the third, but failed to capitalize on several other scoring opportunities due to the lack of a reliable field goal kicker. Starting placekicker Mario Diaz-Aviles missed the contest due to an ankle injury suffered in the season opener the week before. The Hornets outgained Florida A&M 344-to-299 in the contest.

Delaware State won four straight games against Florida A&M from 2005 to '08. The last time the teams met in Tallahassee, the Rattlers pulled out a 21-12 victory in the 2009 season opener.
