DSU SIGNS NEW YORK SOFTBALL STANDOUT

Dover, Del. (Dec. 13, 2010) --- Delaware State University head softball coach Jeff Savage has announced that high school standout Bria Green of Wheatley Heights, N.Y., has signed to attend DSU and compete for the Hornets beginning in the 2012 season.

Green, a utility player, is a senior at Half Hallow Hills High School East on Long Island. She was a 2010 All-Long Island First Team softball selection and her school's Most Valuable player as a junior last season.

Green also competes for the Team Long Island Gold travel squad.

"We are excited to welcome Bria to our softball family," Savage said. "She is a solid student and strong athletic player who we hope can give us many options with her versatility."

Green expects to major in criminal justice at Delaware State.

Savage says the Hornets expect to announce another signing for the 2012 season this spring.
