Wilmington, NC --- Sophomore Sha Tabor knocked in three runs, including the go-ahead score in the sixth, to lead Delaware State to a 5-4 win over Mount St. Mary's in the Seahawk Classic at UNC-Wilmington on Sunday. The score was 4-4 when Tabor singled in pinch runner Kendra Goss with two outs in the top of the sixth. DSU starting pitcher Brittney Ruark retired The Mount in order in the sixth and seventh to protect the lead. Tabor was 3-for-4 at the plate. She gave the Hornets a 1-0 lead with a run-scoring double in the top of the first. Mount St. Mary's led 3-2 when Tabor hit a solo homer in the fifth to tie the score. Delaware State regained the lead, 4-3, when Ruark scored on a Mount error. Mount St. Mary's made it 4-4 with a run in the bottom of the fifth to set up Tabor's heroics. Jessica Chrabaszcz and Allison Rubin had two hits each for DSU. Ruark pitched a complete game to earn the win. She allowed four runs on four hits, while striking out four. Earlier in the day, Delaware State was held to five hits in a 12-1 loss to Lehigh. The Mountain Hawks led 6-0 before adding six runs in the fourth inning. The Hornets scored their only run when Nicole Demers doubled in Courtney Taylor in the bottom of the first inning. Delaware State is 5-3 on the season after posting a 1-3 record in the Seahawk Classic.
