Princeton, NJ — The Delaware State women's track & field program continued their momentum, highlighted by multiple top-four finishes and a record-breaking performance at the Princeton Sam Howell Meet on April 4.
Rebecca Jansen delivered a historic performance in the 5000 meters, placing 12th with a time of 17:46.27 while setting a new DSU school record and claiming the No. 1 mark in the MEAC.
Miriam Okwudibonye led the Hornets with a first-place finish in the 400-meter hurdles, clocking a winning time of 1:00.35.
Valerie Ashamu followed with a strong second-place performance in the high jump, clearing 1.72 meters. Sanaa Virgil added momentum for the Hornets, leaping in the triple jump to secure fifth place with a 11.97 meter mark.
The 4x100-meter relay team of Leah Powell, Mariah Winfield, Kahlia Smith, and Marianah Lipkins delivered a third-place finish with a time of 46.58.
