Harrington, DE – The Delaware State equestrian team opened the 2026 postseason with a 12-7 victory over No. 5 seed Minnesota Crookston in the ECAC Championship at the Delaware State Fairgrounds.
The meet began with Fences, where Delaware State earned a 3-1 lead.
Grace Mangrum (73 on Todd),
Kendall Very (83.5 on Simon), and
Lily Kosal (79.5 on Cooper) all secured points for the Hornets to establish early momentum. While Delaware State took the event win, Minnesota Crookston's Maggie Lawler delivered the highest score of the round with an 87.5 to earn the Most Outstanding Performer (MOP) honor.
The Hornets extended their advantage in the Flat, narrowly defeating the Golden Eagles 3-2 in the discipline.
Lily Kosal posted a 87 on Sandaro to claim her second point of the day and the MOP title.
Melissa Acker and
Kendall Very also added points for DSU, scoring 82.5 and 75.5 respectively.
In Horsemanship, Delaware State kept their lead with a 4-1 win.
Hallie Prater earned MOP honors with a score of 72.5 on Finn. Additional pointed came from
Madison Wojcek (73 on Felon),
Claire Andrews (72 on Cinch), and
Paityn Holm (72.5 on Phil).
Minnesota Crookston took Reining, 3-2. Despite the late push by UMC, Delaware State's
Anna Payne (62 on Sky) and
Claire Andrews (66.75 on Baby) secured their match ups to finalize the 12-7 victory.
