Martin, TN — Despite posting a higher overall raw score, the Delaware State University equestrian team fell 10-6 to University of Minnesota Crookston.

The Hornets opened the day with a 2-2 split in Fences. Lily Kosal posted a 79 on Doug, while Melisa Acker earned Delaware State's MOP honors with an 82 on Finn. The two teams finished even in the event, with Delaware State holding a slight raw score edge, 308.0-306.0.

Minnesota Crookston took Flat, 3-1, with Sarah Hoffmeyer securing Delaware State's lone point with a 78 on Pickles. The Golden Eagles narrowly beat the Hornets in raw score, 300.0-298.0, to take a 5-3 lead after Jumping Seat competition. At this point in the match, the teams' raw scores tied at 606.0.

In Horsemanship, Delaware State split 2-2 to stay within reach. Claire Andrews scored a 76 on Vinny, while Madison Wojeck matched that score on Sarge to earn MOP honors for the Hornets. 

The Golden Eagles sealed the match in Reining with a 3-1 victory. Cambrey Hedges earned Delaware State's lone point in the event with a 68.5 on Scarlet.

Despite the final event score, Delaware State finished with 1,107.0 total competition points, narrowly ahead of Minnesota Crookston's 1,101.0.
