BUFORD, Ga. — The Delaware State University women's triathlon team delivered a strong team performance this weekend, securing a fifth-place overall finish at the Women's Collegiate Triathlon East Regional Championship held at Lake Lanier.
Pacing the Hornets was Rebecca Jansen, who turned in an impressive performance against a deep, competitive field. Jansen crossed the finish line in 13th place overall, anchoring the team's standing with a standout individual effort across the swim, bike, and run.
Adding to Delaware State's success, Teagan Yurocko navigated the challenging Lake Lanier course to secure a 45th-place finish. Her critical points helped the Hornets lock in their top-five team placement on the regional stage.
The East Regional Championship, sanctioned by USA Triathlon, serves as a primary qualifier for the postseason. With a strong fifth-place showing in Georgia, the Hornets will now shift their focus to their training and preparation for the upcoming Women's Collegiate Triathlon National Championships next month.
