NORFOLK, Va., May 7, 2025 — Delaware State's freshman Valerie Ashamu earned Co-Field Athlete of the Week honors.

Ashamu (Fr., Elkridge, MD.) registered a 1.71-meter mark in the high jump, earning fifth place at the Princeton Larry Ellis Invitational. She sits tied for first in DSU history and ties Lucas for the best leap in the MEAC this season.
