Delaware State University Women's Tennis Team competed at the MEAC Individual Championship Tournament last weekend on October 2-4, 2025. Senior and No. 2 Seed,
Catherine Goldman, made it all the way to the semi-finals, defeating Howard's Franchesca Brown (7-5, 6-1) along the way. She lost to the eventual winner, No. 3 Seed Yuliya Yurkova from Norfolk State, in the semi-final match in a tight three-set battle (6-7, 6-4, 6-3).

Alba Benedito made it to the quarterfinals, defeating Irina Iurea and Kayla Kennedy from Norfolk State (0-6, 6-1, 10-4). They lost to the No. 1 seed and finalists from North Carolina Central (6-1, 7-5). Senior
Lucia Casas Blas and Sophomore
Sia Mahajan also made it to the quarterfinals in doubles, barely losing to the eventual winners of the tournament, Sara Barbaric and Valentina San Miguel Soria from NCCU (3-6, 6-2, 10-7).
The Hornets showed great fight and represented Delaware State University with impressive results, competing hard against the best players in the Conference and making a statement for the Spring.
DSU Tennis travels to George Mason next weekend to compete in the George Mason Invitational Tournament on October 11-12, 2025.
