REHOBOTH BEACH, Delaware – The Delaware State University women's golf team finished fifth in the Battle of the Creek tournament on Monday and Tuesday at the Kings Creek Country Club after three rounds of competition.

Delaware State, finishing with a 330 in round one, the Hornets posted a 322 in round two, and 320 in round three for a total score of 972. 

The Hornets were 18 shots behind the leader, Mount St. Mary's, who finished round one with a 318, round two with a 326, and a 310 in round three.  

After three rounds, Claudia Hofmeister stood fourth. Hofmeister, 236 (80-72-84).

The Hornets will travel to Stone Mountain, Georgia for the Hall of Fame Tournament. The first tee is set for Monday, September 23.
