The Delaware State Women's Tennis team made a strong showing at the 2024 Bedford Cup, held at the Junior Tennis Champions Center (JTCC) in College Park, Maryland. The annual tournament, which features top college tennis talent from across the region, saw standout performances from Delaware State's athletes in both singles and doubles competitions.
Camilla Mitolo reached the final in her draw but was defeated by Ava Chambers from Howard University in a close match, 6-7(6), 2-6.
Lucia Casas Blas claimed victory in her singles draw, overcoming West Virginia University's Maja Dodik in a thrilling final, 6-3, 3-6, 11-9. Casas Blas also teamed up with
Kit Yi Kaye Au-Yeung in doubles, where they triumphed over Dodik and Michaela Kucharova, winning the match 6-3.
These strong results highlight Delaware State's growing presence in collegiate tennis.
