DOVER, DE --The Howard Bison proved to be too much for Delaware State on this particular day, as the Hornets fell 4-2 on Sunday.
Sophomore Chandler Martin (0-0) came out of the bullpen for Delaware State ( 10-19, ) and took the loss. Senior Mayanah Mclntosh was a bright spot for the Hornets, coming out of the bullpen as well and throwing five innings, giving up one run on five hits, with two walks and three strikeouts.
At the plate, the Hornets were paced by senior Hailey Ramberg, who went 2-for-3 on the day with a home run and an RBI. Senior Uxua Modrego Lopez put together a standout day at the plate as well, going 2-for-3. Sophomore Emma Crowe also chipped in for Delaware State, putting together one hit in three trips to the plate while adding an RBI. Delaware State pitchers faced 34 Howard hitters in the game, allowing zero ground balls and zero fly balls while striking out three. Howard was led offensively by sophomore M. Jordan, who went 3-for-4 with an RBI. Sophomore J. Holt led the Bison pitching staff, throwing 3.1 innings of one-run ball.
