PHILADELPHIA, Pa. --Khyliah. Reynolds was dealing on Wednesday, tossing a five-hit shutout to lead the Delaware State Hornets over the Chestnut Hill Griffins 12-0.
Rey (1-1) went the distance for Delaware State (12-23, ), giving up five hits, walking one and striking out four.
The Hornets took the lead for good in the second, scoring for the first time in the inning. Delaware State put up two runs in the frame, highlighted by an RBI triple off the bat of freshman K. Horton.
The Hornets then tacked on runs in the fourth and fifth innings, with their biggest output coming in the fifth when they scored six times. The big hit in that inning was a one-run single off the bat of senior Sydney Glisson. Chestnut Hill was led offensively by sophomore M. Del, who went 3-for-3. Freshman M. Baker led the Griffins pitching staff, throwing three innings of two-run ball.

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. --The Delaware State Hornets took a 3-0 lead in the second inning and never trailed from there on the way to a 5-2 victory over the Chestnut Hill Griffins on Wednesday.
Kristin White (4-4) got the win for Delaware State (13-23). The right-hander went seven innings, giving up two runs, both of them earned, on seven hits, allowing four walks and striking out six.
Offensively, the Hornets were paced by Chandler Martin, who went 1-for-3 on the day with a home run and an RBI. Mikaela Francois furnished a noteworthy effort as well, going 1-for-3 with a home run and an RBI. Annalise Santana also chipped in for Delaware State, putting together two hits in three trips to the plate. The Hornets got on the scoreboard first, starting in the second inning. Delaware State picked up three runs in the frame.
The Griffins then gained ground, narrowing the lead to 3-1 until the Hornets expanded their advantage in the fourth. Delaware State scored twice on solo home runs from Martin and Francois, which brought the Hornets lead to 5-1. Chestnut Hill put one run on the scoreboard before the game was over, but Delaware State still held on for the 5-2 win. Chestnut Hill was led offensively by K. Rolon, who went 3-for-3 with a home run and two RBI. M. Baker led the Griffins pitching staff, throwing seven innings of five-run ball.
