Mayanah Mclntosh Dominants for Delaware State in Shutout Victory Over Georgian Court

LAKEWOOD, NJ --Mayanah Mclntosh was dealing on Saturday, throwing a one-hit shutout to lead the Delaware State Hornets over the Georgian Court Lions 1-0.

Mclntosh (3-1) went the distance for Delaware State (6-6), giving up one hit, walking six and striking out seven.

Emma Crowe led the way offensively for the Hornets, going 2-for-3 in the ballgame with a double and an RBI. Dallas Speicher put together a noteworthy performance at the dish as well, going 2-for-3 with a double.

HOW IT HAPPENED

The Hornets took the lead for good in the second, scoring for the first and only time in the inning. Delaware State got on the board thanks to Crowe's RBI double with one out. Mclntosh struck out seven Lions hitters. The Hornets out-hit the Lions at a 6-1 clip. Georgian Court was led offensively by C. Jackson, who went 0-for-2. K. Cornell led the Lions pitching staff, throwing seven innings of one-run ball.

The Hornets will return to action Sunday, March 10 when they face Georgian Court University in the final game of a three game series. First pitch is scheduled for 12:00 p.m.
