DOVER --The Delaware State Hornets got a boost from sophomore Emma Crowe, who collected three hits in a 10-2 win over Lincoln University in game one on Friday afternoon.
Senior M. Mclntosh (2-1) took the win in the circle for Delaware State (5-5).
In addition to her three hits, Crowe had a triple to lead the Hornets. Sophomore Kayla Lester furnished a noteworthy performance at the dish as well, going 2-for-4 with a single and two RBIs. Grad Student Felicity Munoz contributed for Delaware State, putting together two hits in three trips to the plate while adding a single and an RBI.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Hornets got the scoring started early, putting four runs on the board in the bottom of the second inning with the Lions having one run on the board. Delaware State's offense continued clicking and put up three more runs in the bottom of the third.
The Lions added their second and final run in the top of the third. Laila Hasan led the Hornets at the plate, going 2-for-3 with a single and two RBI. Lincoln was led offensively by Sophomore Aliya Rose, who went 1-for-2 with a single and an RBI. Tia Brown led the Lions pitching staff, throwing five innings.
