CLERMONT, FLORIDA – The Hornets women's triathlon team competed in the national championship on Saturday among competitive teams, Arizona State, TCU, Queens College and others.
Despite a loss in the national championship, the Hornets captured a top 10 finish.
Ava Larkin was Delaware's top performer, placing 74th with individual times of 00:10:40 in the swim, 00:31:46 on the bike, and 00:21:18 in the run for a total finish time of 01:05:46.
Freshman Leonie Pfeiffer crossed the finish line in 102nd place overall. Her individual times were 00:10:52 in the swim, 00:31:52 on the bike, and 00:24:00 in the run, finishing with a total time of 01:08:31.
Junior Lison Ziegler took 110th place with a time of 01:10:31, and Daneilla Fleurime finished for the Hornets with an overall time of 01:12:01.
Emma Scholefield placed 120th followed by Ashley Stanley in 135th place to conclude the Hornets' season.
