DOVER, Delaware -- Delaware State fell 52-10 to North Carolina Central at home Saturday afternoon.
The Eagles improved to 8-3 on the year and 4-1 in Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference play, while the Hornets fell to 1-11 overall and 0-5 in conference matchups.
Jaden Sutton totaled 113 yards to lead the Hornets' ground attack and added one touchdown in the game, picking up 6.3 yards per carry along the way. Jaden Stewart also tacked on 41 yards on the ground, picking up 4.6 yards per carry.
NyGhee Lolley reeled in four catches for 45 yards.
Brian Bates paced the Delaware State defensive effort, collecting four tackles and one recovered fumble. Geovanny Fabian added three tackles and one interception and Darren Cook had three tackles, 1.0 TFL, and one sack in the loss.
The Hornets forced two turnovers in Saturday's contest, with Delaware State turning those takeaways into seven points.
Defensively, Delaware State held up fairly well against the North Carolina Central passing attack, holding the Eagles to 199 yards through the air.
