ATLANTA, GA – Delaware State University women's tennis started off the HBCU National Tournament strong with several athletes moving into the semifinals Saturday morning and afternoon in singles draws, held at South Fulton Tennis Center.
Singles:
Kit Yi Kaye Au-Yeung (3-6 6-3 [10-4] ) defeated Jessica Hess to move on to the quarterfinals. Au-Yeung will face Warona Mdlulwa (7-6(11) 4-6 [10-7]) in the quarterfinals this evening.
Daria Jula (6-4 4-6 [10-7] ) defeated Paula Corbalan (6-0 6-0). Jula advanced to the next round in singles draws, and will face Daria Shchoma (7-6(4) 4-6 [10-6) Saturday, September 16 at 8:30 a.m.
Clara Kuehnle (6-1 7-5) defeated Chiara Desia Dabarn Friday morning. Kuehnle will face Timothee Legaud (6-0 6-1 ) Saturday, September 16 at 8:30 a.m.
Eva Golembiovski and Ja'Nayah Pickens will play in the consolation round on Saturday evening.
Doubles:
Daria Jula and Clara Kuehnle advanced to the quarterfinals after defeating Tran/Suzuki on Friday evening. The ladies will face Langa/Wheatley on Saturday, September 16 at 4:30 p.m.
