NORFOLK, Va. --- The Delaware State women's track & field team took part in the second day of the 2023 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Outdoor Track & Field Championships at Norfolk State University.

After two complete days and eight scored events, the Hornets currently sit in fourth place with 38.50 points.

Catherine Glenn captured Delaware State's second individual title after she won the Heptathlon with a total of 5,011 points. Glenn was 27 points shy of the meet record set by Coppin State's Khemani Roberts back in 2017. Glenn's time of 13.43 seconds in the 100-Meter Hurdles has also qualified to compete in said event at the NCAA East Preliminaries at the end of the month.

Distance runner
Ashley Lagat placed fourth in the 3000 Meter Steeplechase with a final time of 12:15.46 while
Sierra Romaine came in eighth in the Long Jump after she landed a final distance of 5.44 meters (17 feet, 10.25 inches)

Delaware State had two throwers finish in the top eight in the Shot Put with
Abigail Jefferies ranking sixth (11.63 meters – 38 feet, 2 inches) and
Orianna Moore sitting in eighth (10.97 meters – 36 feet even) while
Amber Pelle came in fifth in the Hammer Throw with a final distance of 46.98 meters (152 feet, 9 inches).

Khaliyah White qualified to compete in the finals of the 100-Meter Dash after taking the eighth spot in the preliminary rounds with a time of 12.11 seconds.

Lakendra Harpe will take part in the finals of the 400-Meter Dash after clocking a time of 55.85 seconds to sit in fourth in the preliminary rounds.
