Dover, Del. (Apr. 2, 2023) --- Delaware State and Howard split six singles matches, but the Bison captured the doubles point to highlight their 4-3 victory in a MEAC women's tennis contest today. Kit Yi Kaye Au-Yueng (No. 1) and Daria Julia (No. 3) posted singles victories for the Hornets, while DSU won the No. 6 contest by forfeit. Au-Yueng and Howard's Sifa Butcher split the first two sets, but the Hornet sophomore took set three 6-4 to earn the win. Julia also needed three sets claim her win. She dropped the first set to Howard's Selah Stibbons, but bounced back to take set two 6-3, and claimed the match with a 6-3 victory in the deciding third set. Delaware State's
Klaudija Lisovska put a tough fight in the No. 4 singles contest before falling short to HU's Nadia Pegram. Lisovska won the first set 6-4 and was a point away from winning the match in straight sets, but fell 6-7 in set two and dropped the third set 4-6.
