Dover, Del. (Mar. 27, 2023) --- The Delaware State women's tennis team has won five of its last six matches after a 7-0 MEAC victory over visiting Coppin State today. The Hornets won five of the six singles contests in straight sets and swept the three doubles matches.
Klaudija Lisovska had the most impressive singles performance for the Hornets, winning 6-0, 6-0 in the No. 4 contest.Â
Noelani Lui (No. 2) and
Lucia Corte (No. 5) also posted straight set wins in completed contests, while Daria Julia (No. 3) and
Baluck Deang (No. 6) won the first set and were leading in set two when their matches were called.
Delaware State Kit Yi Kay Au-Yeung (No. 1) won in three sets (6-1, 4-6, 10-8) in the No. 1 singles match.
The Hornets are now 3-1 in MEAC matches this spring. Lui, Lisovska and Julia each improved to 3-1 in MEAC singles contests this season.
Delaware State returns to action on Tuesday (Mar. 28) with a non-conference match against Bowie State. Start time is set for 1:00 p.m. at Courtside on Kenton Road in Dover. Â Â Â Â
