Savannah Brooks Receives Second Team Preseason Honor, Women's Basketball Picked to Finish Seventh

NORFOLK, Va. – The Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference announced the 2023-24 Women's Basketball Preseason Honors. Delaware State University women's basketball guard and forward Savannah Brooks received Preseason All-MEAC, as voted by the league's head coaches and sports information directors. The selection was announced by the conference on Thursday, Oct. 26. 

Sophomore Brooks (Taneytown, MD.) was selected to the Second Team, after playing in 25 games last season. She averaged 32.4 minutes and 10.3 points per game. Brooks received multiple weekly MEAC honors in the 2022-23. 

The Hornets were picked to finish seventh in the league, with a total of 43 votes. DSU finished sixth in the conference last season with a 5-9 record.

Women's basketball begins their season on the road, facing Temple University on Nov. 6.
