DOVER, Del. --- The Delaware State track & field teams will compete in the 2022 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Outdoor Track & Field Championships this weekend hosted by Norfolk State University.

The Hornets to look out for this weekend on the men's team will be
Tayshaun Chisholm,
Andre Carr, Jr.,
Malachi Little,
Albert Norman and
Peter Kamanu.

On the women's team, big things can be expected of
Catherine Glenn,
Annalise Bond,
Lakendra Harpe,
Kyra Lyles and
Azure Patterson.

Bond and Kamanu will look to go back-to-back in Pole Vault as they come into championship weekend as the reigning individual champions from the Indoor Championships. Both Bond and Kamanu are also currently ranked atop the MEAC in this event. Bond has held the top spot since the Towson Invitational when she notched a height of 3.41 meters. Kamanu tallied a mark of 4.60 meters at the Morgan State Legacy Invite to propel him into first place.Â
Chisholm, who won the individual title in the 60-Meter Hurdles during the 2022 MEAC Indoor Track & Field Championships, will look to win another hurdle title this weekend. He enters the championships with the second-fastest time in the league in the 110 Hurdles of 13.87 seconds. A time he clocked at the Morgan State Legacy.

Carr, Jr.'s 10.34 second 100 Meter Dash time from the Norfolk State Invite currently ranks him fifth in the MEAC in that event.

Little, who also poses as a threat in the sprinting events, ranks seventh in the 400 Meter Dash with his time of 48.29 seconds from the DSU Sting Invite earlier this season.

Norman, the school's distance runner record holder of three different events, sits atop the league in the 3000 Meter Steeplechase with a time of 9:44.88. He is also third in the MEAC in the 5000 Meters with a time of 15:50.58.Â

Glenn finds herself ranked in the league in a few different events both on the track and in the field. She currently ranks second in the MEAC in the 100 Hurdles after clocking a time of 13.74 seconds at the Penn Relays. Glenn also posted a distance of 5.54 meters in the Long Jump at the Norfolk State Invitational to put her at seventh in the league in this event. Glenn posted a distance of 34.65 meters in the Javelin at the UMW Opener in the beginning of the season.

Harpe is another short-distance specialist for the Hornets, recorded personal record times in the 200- and 400-Meter Dashes at the Morgan State Legacy Invite that currently ranks her amongst the fastest in the conference. Her time of 56.57 seconds in the 400 Meter Dash has her placed 10th in the MEAC while her time of 24.65 seconds in the 200 has her just outside the top-10 in the 11th spot in this event.

Lyles sits right behind Harpe in the 400 Meter Dash in 11th place with a time of 56.57 seconds.

Patterson, the Hornets' premier thrower, ranks in the top-10 in the league in a couple events. Most notably, Patterson is fourth in the MEAC in the Shot Put after notching a distance of 12.83 meters at the Norfolk State Invitational. She enters the outdoor championships sitting is sixth place in the Hammer after tallying a distance of 45.90 meters at Salisbury's Eastern Shore Challenge. Patterson is just outside the top-10 in the javelin in the 11th spot with a distance of 20.76 meters.
