Dover, Del. (Mar. 22, 2022) --- The Delaware State women's tennis team won five of the six singles matches to key its 6-1 victory over Mount St. Mary's today. The Hornets have won three straight and five of their last six contests to improve to 5-3 (3-1 MEAC) this spring.
Delaware State recorded each of its five singles wins in straight sets, although seven games were needed to claim the first set in each one.
Kit Yi Kay Au-Yeung was a 7-5, 6-2 winner in the No. 1 match, while Daria Julia posted a 7-5, 6-4 victory at No. 2 for the Hornets.
Delaware State's
Klaudija Lisovska took the No. 3 singles contest 7-6, 6-4; and
Baluck Deang claimed the No. 4 match by 7-5, 6-4.
Samara Guillory won her fifth straight singles match 7-5, 6-3 in the No. 6 contest.
Delaware State also claimed the doubles point by winning two of the three contests.
Julia and
Iris Leder posted a 7-5 victory in the No. 1 doubles match, while Lisovska and Deang pulled out a 7-6 win at No. 3.
