Dover, Del. (Apr. 3, 2021) --- Delaware State won four singles matches and two of three doubles contests to defeat Howard in a MEAC women's tennis match at the Colonial Tennis Center today.
The Hornets snapped a six-match losing streak to the Bison to improve to 3-1 overall and 2-0 Â in the MEAC this season.
Delaware State's
Lolita Kozina was a straight set winner in the No. 1 singles contest, topping Howard's Yemesi Ifederu 7-5, 7-5. Kozina also teamed with Klaudia Lisovska for a 6-1 victory in the No. 1 doubles match.
Lisovska also won in straight sets in her singles match, defeating Howard's Hana El Sherif in the No. 2 contest.
DSU's
Daria Julia was a winner at No. 3 singles with a 6-4, 7-5 victory over Alexandra Blackwell.
The Hornets' No. 3 doubles team of
Cassandra Boltman and
Alina Polyvana came out on top 6-3 over Howard's Aria Ragas and Kendall Addison. Â Â Â
