Dover, Del. (Mar. 5, 2021) --- The Delaware State women's tennis team captured every set in a 7-0 victory over Coppin State in the Hornets' 2021 home and MEAC opener this week.
The win was also the first at Delaware State for new head coach
Pavel Zinchenko.
DSU took each singles match in straight sets and earned the doubles point by capturing all three contests.
Lolita Kozina,
Cassandra Boltman and
Iris Leder turned in the most impressive singles performances for the Hornets. Kozina bested Coppin State's Iva Janklovic 6-1, 6-0 in the No. 1 singles match. Boltman was a 6-1, 6-0 winner over Sarah Dunwell at No.4, while Leder outplayed MacKenzie Jones 6-1, 6-0 in the No. 5 contest.

Alina Polyvana (6-2, 6-1), No. 3
Anastasia Belkina (6-4, 6-3) and No. 2 Klaudia Lisovska (7-6, 5-4) were also straight set winners in singles play for the Hornets.
Boltman and Polyvana posted an impressive 6-1 victory in the No. 3 doubles match, while Leder and Belkina were 6-2 winners in No. 2 doubles.
Lisovska and Kozina captured the No. 1 doubles contest 6-3.
The Hornets (1-1; 1-0 MEAC) return action on Sunday (Mar. 7) at Lafayette. The match is set for 1:00 p.m. in Easton, Pa.
