DSU / UD FOOTBALL CONTEST TO BE TELEVISED ON ESPN2

Dover, Del. (Mar. 25, 2021) --- The first-ever First State Rivalry football contest between Delaware State and the University of Delaware to be played on April 10 at DSU's Alumni Stadium will have a larger television audience than previously planned.
The Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference has announced that the 6:00 p.m. contest will now be televised on ESPN2. It was originally scheduled to air on ESPN3, with a rebroadcast set for April 11 on ESPNU.
ESPN2 is considered the second outlet for ESPN's mainstream sports coverage. ESPN2 is available to approximately 90 million television households in the United States.
Delaware State and the University of Delaware agreed last November to meet at DSU's Alumni Stadium for the first time in the history of the series this spring. The Apr. 10 contest between the Hornets and Hens will mark the 10th meeting between the state's two NCAA Division I football programs. Delaware State and UD played their historic first contest in the 2007 NCAA Division I-AA playoffs at Delaware Stadium in Newark. The Hornets and Hens have met eight times since 2009, each UD Stadium.  The Hornets are seeking their first win in the series. Delaware State held a lead against the Hens for the first time, 6-3, in the second quarter of their last battle in 2019, although Delaware bounced back to win the 2019 contest 31-13.
Delaware State's audio broadcast of the game can be heard on the Heritage Sports Radio Network (HSRN.com).
The Hornets' home contest against South Carolina State on Apr. 17 is still slated to air on ESPN3, with the rebroadcast on ESPNU the following day.
