ALBANY, New York -- Delaware State fell 28-3 to Albany on the road Saturday afternoon.
The Great Danes improved to 3-3 on the season while the Hornets dropped to 3-3.
Kobe Boykin totaled 21 yards to lead the Hornets' ground attack in the game, picking up 7 yards per carry along the way. Ui Ale also tacked on 16 yards on the ground.
The most prolific target for Delaware State quarterbacks was Deontae Williams, who caught two passes for 52 yards.
Carl Nesmith paced the Delaware State defensive effort, collecting seven tackles, 2.5 TFL, and two sacks. Andrew Harris added six tackles, 1.0 TFL, and one sack and Team had in the loss.
Defensively, Delaware State held up fairly well against the Albany offensive attack, holding the Great Danes to 226 total yards. The Hornets kept Albany under 150 yards on both the ground and through the air, allowing 87 passing and 139 rushing yards.
How It Happened
Delaware State responded to an early 7-0 Albany lead with a first quarter field goal to narrow the deficit to 7-3. Delaware State didn't score again in the game and Albany tacked on 21 more points to finish off the scoring.
