Kyra Lyles (Gaithersburg, Md.) is off to a fast start to her Hornet career. Lyles took second place in the women's 400-meter dash at the season-opening Liberty Elite Invitational in Lynchburg, Va., this weekend.
Lyles was runner-up in the race with a time of 58.24 seconds in her debut collegiate quarter-mile. Delaware State's
Blair Daniel (fr.) was ninth among college runners at 1:00.31 in the 400.

Sierra Romaine (fr.) turned in a fourth place finish in the long jump with a top leap of 5.36 meters (17-07.00), while teammate
Tiajah Robinson (sr.; New Castle, Del.) was seventh in the high jump with a best effort of 1.58m (5-02.25).
