LADY HORNETS WITH MULTIPLE STANDOUT PERFORMANCES

Collegeville, Pa. (Feb. 8) --- The Delaware State Hornets competed in the 2020 Frank Colden Invitational at Ursinus College, on Saturday afternoon.

T'Keyah Macklin starts the invitational out on the right foot. The junior places first in the 60 meters with a time of 7.84 seconds. This is Macklin's third first place finish of her career (including relay races) Freshmen's' Lakia Hope (8.08 seconds) and Makiya Gayles (8.13 seconds) finish third and fourth respectively.

The success continues for the Lady Hornets, Lakendra Harpe places first in the 200 meters with a time of 25.93 seconds, making this the tenth time Harpe has finished in first for her career (including relay races) Macklin continues her torrid start finishing in second at 26.16 seconds. Donyae Shelton places fourth at 26.63 seconds and Ahnrea McCaskill places eighth at 27.00 seconds.

The 4x 200 relay team of Donyae Shelton. Lakia Hope, Makiya Gayles and Lakendra Harpe finishes first with a time of 1-minute-45.62 seconds (1:45.62).

The 4 x 400 relay team of T'Keyah Macklin, Donyae Shelton, Lakendra Harpe and Sylvia Okafor finish second with a time of 4:12.24

Cydney Davis places third in the 400 meters with a time of 1:02.30. Sierra Cruz finishes fourth with 1:03.02 and Ahnrea McCaskill places seventh at 1:03.45.

Katarzyna Rosikon places fourth in the 5000 meters at 19:46.37.

Kiara Hameed finishes fifth in the 60-meter hurdles crossing the finish line at 9.83 seconds.

The Lady Hornets with plenty of success in the field portion of the invitational. Amber Conyers places first in the Long jump with 5.63 meters and first place in the Triple Jump at 11.20 meters. These performances mark Conyers sixth and seventh 1st place finishes of her career.

Kiara Hameed finishes second in the Long Jump at 5.14 meters.

Precious Igwebuike finishes first with 3060 points in the Pentathlon. This is the sixth time Igwebuike has finished first in her career (including relay races).
