HOPE AND COMPANY COMPETE IN FASTRACK INVITATIONAL

Staten Island, NY (Feb. 14) --- The Delaware State Lady Hornets competed in the Fastrack National Invite on Friday at the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex.

Lakia Hope garners her first collegiate first place finish of her career. The freshman records a time of 8.18 seconds in the 60 meters final.

Sylvia Okafor places first the 400 meters with a time of 59.06 seconds. This marks the sixth time Okafor has placed first in her collegiate career. Cydney Davis places third with a time of 1-minute-00.09 seconds (1:00.09) Sierra Cruz finishes eighth with 1:01.26 and Ahnrea McCaskill earns a tenth-place finish with a time of 1:01.56.

Sylvia Okafor, Lakendra Harpe, T'Keyah Maclin and Donyae Shelton finish second in the 4 x 400 relay with a time of 3:55.21.

Sierra Sadler leaps into second place with 1.55 meters in the High Jump College Finals.

Tiajah Robinson (1.60 meters) and Precious Igwebuike (1.55 meters) finish third and fourth respectively in the High Jump Invite Finals.

Amber Conyers soars to third place with a mark of 5.58 meters in the Long Jump finals. Igwebuike finishes sixth with 5.35 meters.

T'Keyah Macklin records a time of 7.71 seconds for a fifth-place finish in the 60 meters invite finals. Macklin's time qualifies her for the IC4A/ECAC (super conference) meet at the end of the indoor season. Macklin also places sixth in the 200 meters invite final with a time of 25.57 seconds.

Conyers also places sixth with 11.37 meters in the triple jump finals.

Precious Igwebuike takes sixth place in the 60-meter hurdles invite final with a time of 9.12 seconds.

Lakendra Harpe (58.16 seconds) and Donyae Shelton (58.53 seconds) finishes in eighth and tenth place respectively in the 400 meters invite finals.

UP NEXT
For many members of DSU team the indoor regular season is over, and their focus turns to the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Championships. The three-day tournament starts February 27th through February 29th in Landover, Maryland. However, some members might participate in the Armory Last Chance meet on Feb. 21 as one last tune up before the MEAC Championships.
