New York, NY (Jan. 10) --- The Lady Hornets place second in the Armory Track & Field Center on Friday night.
Grad student
Katarzyna Rosikon led the way earning the team's only first place finish. Rosikon continues to shine in distance events as her time of 11-minutes-46.81 seconds (11:46.81) is seventeen seconds faster than the second-place finisher. Roskion also finishes in eighth place in the Mile run with a time of 6:02.21.
Sierra Cruz continues her stellar senior year, after being a solid runner during cross country, she has carried that momentum into the indoor season. Cruz places second in the 500 meters with a time of 1:29.78 and sixth in the 800 meters 2:37.26.
Ahnrea McCaskill,
Cydney Davis, Dontae Shelton and
Lakendra Harpe finishes third in the 4 x 200 relay with a time of 1:44.60.
The 4 x 400 relay team of
Sylvia Okafor, Donaye Shelton,
Lakendra Harpe and
Cydney Davis places third with a time of 3:57.05.
Ahnrea McCaskill places third with a time of 8.12 seconds in the 60 meters,
Lakia Hope was right behind her finishing in fourth with a time of 8.13 seconds.
Makiya Gayles also finishes in the top ten (8.43 seconds).
Sylvia Okafor is another senior carrying her success in cross country into the indoor track season. Okafor finishes fourth in the 800 meters with a time of 2:24.89.
Amber Conyers 5.41 meters gives her a fourth-place finish in the long jump. Kiara Hameed i also in the top ten with 5.06 meters. In addition, Conyers finishes in fifth in the triple jump (10.97 m)
Lakendra Harpe places fourth with a career best time of 58.12 seconds in the 400 meters.
Sierra Sadler places sixth with 1.50 meters in the high jump. Tiajah Robinson finishes seventh due to losing the tie breaker, her distance was 1.50 meters as well. Kiara Hameed places eighth with 1.45 meters.
Freshmen
Ayanna Obey (12.87 m) and
Cierra Brown (12.73 m) set personal high marks as they finish sixth and seventh respectively in the weight throw.
Jolena Smith places ninth (10.85 m).
Ayanna Obey (10.94 m) and
Cierra Brown (9.58 m) finishes seventh and ninth in the Shot Put.
T'Keyah Macklin finishes tenth in the 200 meters (26.27 seconds).
