The Game
Delaware State (5-19; 3-10 MEAC) takes on long-time rival Morgan State in a Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference contest. The Lady Hornets are trying to rebound from an 85-59 loss to Coppin State last Monday in their most recent outing. DSU is currently 10th in the MEAC standings, a-half behind ninth place Savannah State (4-10). Lanayjha Ashe (jr.) led DSU with 20 points and six assists in the Coppin State contest. Yazmin Batch added 11 a career-high 11 points, while Shonny Regalado (fr.) came off the bench to tally 10 points, tying her career high. NaJai Pollard (sr.) is Delaware State's top scorer, averaging a MEAC-high 22.6 points per game, which is eighth among all NCAA Div. I players. She's also second in the MEAC in rebounding at 10.6 per contest. Pollard is DSU's all-time leading scorer with 1,890  career points and No. 2  in team history with 1000 rebounds, making her the second player in Lady Hornets' history with at 1000 points and 1000 rebounds. She's also DSU's career leader with 199 blocks. Pollard is a five-time MEAC Player-of-the-Week and a defensive player-of-the-week award recipient this season. Lanayjha Ashe (jr.) is second on the Lady Hornets and 13th in the MEAC in scoring at 12.9 points per game.  

Morgan State (8-18; 6-7 MEAC), currently seventh in the MEAC standings, brings a three-game losing streak into the contest. The Bears are coming off a 74-62 home loss to Howard last Monday. Adre'onia Coleman led Morgan State with 20 points and eight rebounds, Jihayah Chavis added 17 points. Coleman is tops on the Bears and fourth in the MEAC in scoring at 16.7 points per game. She's also sixth in the MEAC in rebounding at 8.1 per game. Ashia McCalla is second on the team in scoring at 9.4 points per game.    

 

The Series (DSU leads 40-37)
This is the only scheduled meeting between the teams this season. Delaware State swept two 2017-18 contests, winning 62-54 at Morgan State and 60-56 in Memorial Hall. In the first 2017-18 meeting, Ashe led the Lady Hornets with 17 points, while Pollard contributed 15 points, 11 rebounds and five blocks in the win. In the second 2017-18 contest, Pollard led all players with 23 points and nine rebounds. The Lady Hornets have won the last two meetings to open up a 40-37 series lead.
