WBB: LADY HORNETS REMAIN WINLESS AT HOME

Dover, Del. --- The Lady Hornets fell to Florida A&M 65-56 today to drop to 2-18 on the season and 1-6 in the MEAC. The Rattlers improve to 5-15 overall and 3-4 in conference play.  DSU remains winless at home with a 0-6 record at Memorial Hall.

The Lady Hornets scored nine points off six FAMU turnovers, to take a 22-18 lead after one quarter of play.  

DSU's NaJai Pollard led all players with 18 points and 7 rebounds in the first half. However, the Rattlers' bench scored 11 of the teams' 17 second quarter points, to take a 35-34 lead heading into the second half.

Delaware State only managed five points in the third quarter. The Lady Hornets went scoreless for the last 4:53 seconds of the quarter and trailed 53-39 heading into the fourth.

Florida A&M took its largest lead of 18 points early in the fourth quarter. The Hornets responded with a run of their own. DSU scored 13 points off turnovers to cut the deficit to six points, but were unable to get any closer.

 The Rattlers shot 23-62 (37.1%) from the field, including 9-21 (42.9%) on three-point attempts.

 Delaware State made 16-60 field-goal attempts (26.7%) and converted on just 5-18 three-pointers (27.8%).

 Florida A&M outscored Delaware State 34-12 in bench points. They also outscored DSU 24-18 in points in the paint.

 The Lady Hornets outscored the Rattlers 25-10 on points off turnovers.

Pollard finished the game with her 13th double-double of the season with 18 points and 11 rebounds. Mikah Aldridge added 16 points and tied her career high with 5 steals.

 FAMU 's Dawn King had a team high 13 points off the bench. Cedricka Sweeting chipped in with 12 points. The Duo combined to hit six three-point field goals.

 The Lady Hornets will be back in action Jan. 30 against North Carolina Central. Game time is 5:30 p.m.

Aliah Stinnett returned from injury to play in her first game, since the season opener.

Mikah Aldridge has made 11 three-point field goals in her last three games.
