HORNETS STING MOUNT ST. MARY?S 2-0 FOR FIRST WIN OF 2014

(Emmitsburg, Md.) – Sunday afternoon, the Delaware State women's soccer team (1-5) wrapped up its back-to-back weekend road slate with a 2-0 shutout victory over the Mount St. Mary's (0-6), behind goals from forwards Paige Wilcox (2) and Taylor Addison (1).

In addition, not only did the Hornets pick up their first win of the season, but it was the program's first road victory since defeating NJIT 1-0 in 2008.

With no score after the first period, Wilcox connected for an unassisted goal during the 48th minute, while Addison's scored via a header shot with less than a minute to play. Defender Taylor Pratcher was credited with an assist.

In the net for Delaware State, goalkeeper Katelyn Koslosky followed up her 10-save effort in Friday's 2-0 loss at American with six stops to secure her sixth career shutout victory.

Coming up, the Columbia Blue & Red will return to action this Wednesday at home against Rider (7 p.m.).
