WORCESTER, Mass. - Senior Kelsey Gibson (Elizabethtown, N.Y.) got off two shots, including one on goal, but the Delaware State University women's soccer team was shutout, 3-0, Sunday afternoon to Holy Cross University at the Linda Johnson Smith Soccer Stadium.
Also recording shots on goal for the Hornets were fellow seniors Candace Wyre (Smyrna, Del.) and Jeanette Salgado (Bergenfield, N.J.).
Delaware State was outshot in the contest, 18-5, by the Crusaders. Holy Cross also collected four corner kicks to the Hornets' zero.
The Crusaders saw goals from Gina Righini, Annie Galvin and Maura Fox. Megan Greineder collected two assists on the day.
DSU sophomore Katelyn Koslosky (East Islip, N.Y.) tallied six saves in 85 minutes of play while Carly McCabe saw three saves for HC.
With the loss, the Hornets fall to 0-6-0 on the year while Holy Cross improves to 3-4-1.
