NORFOLK, VA --The Delaware State men's basketball team got a 34-point showing from the bench, but fell 75-58 to the Norfolk State Spartans on the road Saturday.
Dean Shepherd led the Hornets (6-18, 1-8) with 16 points. Jalen StClair also added seven points and three steals off the bench and Rahmir Moore helped out with eight points.
How It Happened
Delaware State struggled out of the gate, falling behind 39-26 heading into halftime.
Norfolk State kept widening its lead after intermission, constructing a 61-41 advantage before Delaware State went on a 10-0 run to shrink the deficit to 61-51 with 6:44 to go in the contest. Norfolk State responded and outscored the Hornets the rest of the way, ending the game with a final score of 75-58. Delaware State got a boost from its bench in the period, as non-starters accounted for 19 of its 32 total points.
