DAVIDSON, NC --The Delaware State volleyball team fell to the Coastal Carolina Lady Chanticleers in three sets (18-25, 15-25, 14-25) Friday at John M Belk Arena.
The non-conference loss dropped Delaware State to 3-1 on the season.
Emma Patmon finished with nine kills on the day to lead the Hornets attack while finishing with a hitting percentage of .318. got 5 digs from Emma Crakow to lead them defensively.

How It Happened
SET 1 | The Hornets fell behind early, losing a tough first set 25-18. Delaware State trailed by as many as eight points as Coastal Carolina grabbed the advantage for good at 3-2 in a set that was tied up three times before the Lady Chanticleers took control.
SET 2 | Delaware State lost the second set 25-15, digging a 2-0 deficit in the match. Delaware State trailed by as many as 10 points as Coastal Carolina grabbed the advantage for good at 6-5 in a set that was tied up five times before the Lady Chanticleers took over the lead.
SET 3 | Delaware State could not win set three and was swept by Coastal Carolina. The Hornets fell behind on the first point and never took the lead before losing the set 25-14.

Delaware State will return to action on Saturday, September 6 when they face host institution Davidson College and Elon in Day Two of the Wildcat Classic. The first serve are scheduled for 12 p.m.
