QUEENS, NY --The Delaware State volleyball team fell to the West Virginia Mountaineers 3-0 (14-25, 17-25, 14-25) Sunday at Carnesecca Arena.
The non-conference loss dropped Delaware State to 5-7 on the season.
Gerren Tomlin finished with 14 kills on the day to lead the Hornets offense. got 7 digs from Emma Patmon to lead them defensively.

How It Happened
SET 1 | The Hornets found themselves in an early deficit, dropping a tough first set 25-14. Delaware State trailed by as many as 11 points as West Virginia never gave up the lead in a set that was tied up zero times before the Mountaineers took control.
SET 2 | Delaware State lost the second set 25-17, digging a 2-0 hole in the match. Delaware State trailed by as many as eight points as West Virginia grabbed the advantage for good at 8-7 in a set that was tied up five times before the Mountaineers took over the lead.
SET 3 | Delaware State couldn't prolong the match and lost in set number three. The Hornets fell behind on the first point and never took the lead before losing the set 25-14.
