QUEENS, NY --The Delaware State volleyball team fell to the Tennessee Lady Volunteers in straight sets (19-25, 10-25, 17-25) Saturday at Carnesecca Arena.
The non-conference loss dropped Delaware State to 4-5 on the season.
Aaliyah Mitchell finished with six kills on the day to lead the Hornets attack. got four digs from Landyn Langham to lead them defensively.

SET 1 | The Hornets found themselves in an early deficit, dropping a tough first set 25-19. Delaware State trailed by as many as six points as Tennessee never gave up the lead in a set that was tied up zero times before the Lady Volunteers took control.
SET 2 | A 25-10 second-set loss put Delaware State in a 2-0 deficit in the match. Delaware State trailed by as many as 15 points as Tennessee grabbed the advantage for good at 3-2 in a set that was tied up two times before the Lady Volunteers took over the lead.
SET 3 | Delaware State couldn't prolong the match and lost in set number three. The Hornets dropped a tough set 25-17. Delaware State trailed by as many as eight points as Tennessee grabbed the advantage for good at 2-1 in a set that was tied up just once before the Lady Volunteers took over the lead.

QUEENS, NY --The Delaware State volleyball team fell to the St. John's (NY) Red Storm 3-1 (22-25, 22-25, 25-21, 19-25) Saturday on the road at Carnesecca Arena.
The non-conference loss dropped Delaware State to 5-6 on the season.
The Hornets were led by a double-double from Emma Patmon, who registered 15 kills and 12 digs on the day. Aaliyah Mitchell also added 13 kills to help the attack. On the defensive end, Landyn Langham chipped in for with 12 digs to go with eight blocks from Hannah Sanders.

SET 1 | The Hornets fell behind early, dropping the first set 25-22. Delaware State trailed by as many as six points as St. John's (NY) grabbed the advantage for good at 18-17 in a set that was tied up seven times before the Red Storm took over in the second half of the stanza.
SET 2 | A 25-22 second-set loss put Delaware State behind two sets to none in the match. The Hornets trailed by as many as six points as St. John's (NY) grabbed the advantage for good at 19-18 in a set that was tied up six times before the Red Storm took over in the second half of the stanza.
SET 3 | Delaware State stayed alive after a win in the third set to make it a 2-1 match. The Hornets won the set 25-21 propelled by a strong showing on the attacking end. Delaware State put together a .333 attack percentage with 16 kills in the set win. The Hornets opened up a 10-5 lead in the stanza and coasted to victory from there. The Delaware State offense also got a boost from three aces in the stanza.
SET 4 | Delaware State couldn't keep the rally going and fell in the fourth set 25-19 to drop the match. The Hornets trailed by as many as seven points as St. John's (NY) grabbed the advantage for good at 12-11 and Delaware State wasn't able to recover in a set that was knotted up nine times before the Red Storm took over.
