DSU Men's Cross Country Takes Second Place in Season Opener

Princess Ann, Maryland --  The Delaware State University Men's Cross Country team opened up the season in the UMES invite, marking some of the best career times against rival competitors. 

The Hornets scored 38 points to earn second place (1.20.07) in the UMES invitational 5K Run. 

Junior, Marian Drazan led the Hornets with a burst of speed, earning second place with a final time of 15.20.

Freshman, Lekan Sotonwa look to mark his way into DSU history. Sotonwa set a season opener career best time of 15.35 (6th place). Jonathan Drew continue to add to the Hornets success with a eighth place finish (16.05).

Sophomore, Ian Cain slipped into the top 10, finishing tenth place, clocking 16.14. Nathan Donaldson (12th place) rounded out Delaware State scoring with an final time of (16:52).

Delaware State returns to action at home in the Sting Invitational on September 12th, 2025 in Smyrna, DE.
